Experience

Gary, originally from Northumberland, set up Scott Logic to build bespoke software for investment banks, money management institutions and hedge funds. Previous to founding Scott Logic, Gary spent 17 years working in IT, during which he gained extensive experience of working in the heart of finance. Before leaving the City to return to the North East, Gary was the head of Fixed Income Analytics for Lehman Brothers, for whom he had worked for 11 years. He is hoping to persuade other IT workers to abandon the rat race and come home to enjoy the North-East and Scotland’s quality of life.

Role

As Managing Director, Gary is involved in every aspect of the company and takes a very hands-on approach. Gary oversees engagements with the existing global client list and introduces financial companies to the services offered by Scott Logic. By working closely with the team, Gary is able to ensure good performance for clients and that all employees are enjoying a pleasant working environment.

Gary holds an MSc in Parallel Computing from Edinburgh University and a BSc (Hons) from Durham University.
