On Saturday 22nd August, a team from Scott Logic entered the Durham Allcomers Regatta, and won all of their races to take the title of Allcomers Champions 2009.

The Allcomers Regatta is a competition for those new to rowing, with only one experienced rower permitted per team. The event took place on a sunny evening on the banks of the Wear, and a sizeable crowd cheered the team to victory.

The team of four developers from Scott Logic’s Newcastle office – Neil Herald, Andrew Kurowski, Peter Scholl and Mike Smith – had just four training sessions to get to grips with rowing under the coaching of Durham Regatta organiser and ex-Scott Logic employee Richard Mortimer. With the team only being able to train with a cox for two of the four sessions and Peter a last-minute substitute, the four were delighted with the result – and especially pleased that their hard work paid off with a convincing win in the final to take the title.

Scott Logic are proud to continue their association with Durham rowing, and following the four’s success this year, hope to enter a team in next year’s Allcomers Regatta.
