Simon Foley, August 17th, 2010
Last weekend saw the inaugural Scott Logic Edinburgh Karting Grand Prix at the Knockhill racing circuit. Nineteen wannabe F1 drivers battled it out in the Fife sunshine to claim office bragging rights for the rest of the year. Racing on one of the toughest tracks on the karting scene (ok maybe not), it soon became clear that mastery at the corners separated the best from the rest and there were spins aplenty.
Podium finishes went to Simon “How did he get there?” Foley in third place, Matt “Nearly black flagged” Blackham in second and in first place, by a long margin, Drew “Next stop Maranello” Forster. Special mention to Ian Sullivan who, despite dominating his heats, spun in the final and missed out on a deserved podium. Drew managed to take at least a second off everyone in every heat and both final rounds, in the process forgetting the old maxim “never beat your boss” and doing his job prospects at Scott Logic no good at all.
The season now being over, we await next year’s showdown…
