Senior Technical Architect

Experience

Graduating from Leeds University with a BSc (first class hons) in Physics and Mathematics and a PhD in Physics, Colin brings to the company over 12 years of professional software development expertise. Prior to joining Scott Logic, Colin has worked in a diverse range of fields. In his previous role as R&D manager for VisiTech international Colin lead a team of mechanical, software, optical and electronic engineers in the development of a number of novel microscopes and imaging solutions. More recently Colin has focussed on software development and architecture, specialising in front-end technologies and techniques for cross-platform mobile development.

Colin is an experienced speaker, author and prominent member of the Microsoft Silverlight and Windows Phone 7 development communities. He has written numerous white papers, articles, blog posts, patents and a book, he has also contributed a few chapters to a soon-to-be-published eBook on mobile application development. Colin has delivered a number of talks on a range of subjects relating to front-end technology choice and mobile development.

Role

At Scott Logic, Colin currently leads one of our largest client teams. His team has worked with the client to develop a diverse range of financial applications covering Equities, FX, CFDs, Futures, FX Options and Exchange Traded Options, with an equally diverse range of technologies, including Windows Forms, WPF, Silverlight, JavaScript and, ASP.NET. The team provides a range of services to the client including architecture and design, implementation and project management.
