Senior Developer, Newcastle
I had previously been at Durham University for a number of years after studying there for a Software Engineering degree, then a PhD in Software Visualisation and finally working as a Teaching Associate in the Computer Science department.
While at Durham I’d heard about a new company being set up, and after an initial interview with Gary Scott and upon hearing about his plans, I became very interested. What attracted me was the focus on strong technical solutions, varied projects and close links with clients. Thankfully my interview was successful and I joined Scott Logic in October 2005. Since then I’ve seen the company go from strength to strength, but it has always maintained its core focus of delivering quality solutions to meet its clients' needs.
I am currently responsible for a small team working on infrastructure projects for a client’s website. This involves a range of activities, from developing new web applications to maintaining common code that is used by other teams.
During my time at Scott Logic I’ve worked on a variety of projects, from Rich Internet Applications to back-end servers, using a number of different technologies. I’ve always enjoyed the challenges, but at the same time I have always valued the support and the expertise of the other members of the team.
