Matt@Scottlogic: I think end users writing tests are a bit utopistic indeed, especially with non-technical cusomers. However if a customer is technical and enthusiastic he might just be willing to take part in the process!

Matt Tester: I don't think Behaviour Driven Development would replace classic unit tests, I think it only extends them. I tend to look at BD as the next step after unit testing, quite close to integration testing.

Just the info I needed. Checking NBehave out ... do you see it only working from the UI perspective or as a complete replacement of classic Unit Tests across all layers?

"sentences can then be written by the non-technical end users" - I was at this talk also. One of my main concerns was the proposition of end users writing tests, even in plain English. Do you see this occuring? I can see it perhaps closing the gaps between testers and developers on larger scale projects. However, for many projects a lot of time can be spent analysing requirements, which generally falls to those on the development side learning about the business process, then interpreting and writing requirements for users to approve. Given the bridge extends from the developer to the user, I struggle to see (the majority of) users being involved to any great degree.
